BYE BYE BIRDIE is one of
the most captivating musical shows of
our time. It tells the story of Conrad
Birdie, a rock and roll singer who is
about to be inducted into the Army. His
agent, Albert, comes up with a publicity
stunt that has Conrad kissing a random
member of his fan club. This happens
to be Kim McAfee of Sweet Apple, OH.
However, things don’t go quite
as planned. Kim’s father becomes
dumfounded with the prospect of being
on the Ed Sullivan Show, her boyfriend
becomes disastrously jealous of Conrad
and Conrad himself becomes tired of the
show business life and tries to teach
the kids how to party. Some of the musical
theater classics in this show are What
Did I Ever See In Him?, Spanish
Rose and Kids. |
